On 31 October 2019, Futures Space will present another Night of the Futures at betahaus Neukölln, this time on the future of the Smart Home. Our speakers in October will explore the diverse future perspectives of how we live and interact with technologies in our homes and give completely new insights into the future. In this event we will explore human interaction with machines, their future development and their impact on life at home.
How do you design for the end of the world? What does the future hold for the automotive industry and which innovation markets will we open up in the coming years?
In addition to lectures and insights from speakers from Porsche Digital, Rasa, BCG Digital Ventures and Futures Space, hands-on workshops will be offered on the topics of growth management, business model innovation and innovation profiling. The Startup network SUN in cooperation with BCG Digital Ventures is organizing a future conference in Berlin on October 19, 2019.
As board member of the Startup Network, I moderated the day and held two workshops myself. Together with Geoffrey Hildbrand I showed the potential of technologies and disruptive thinking.
Together with unconventional thinkers, innovators and thought leaders, we are launching „Innovate! Munich“ we search for new approaches to solutions. In order not only to talk about innovations, but to live them, we are guests at Google Munich. There we will shape the future of the city of Munich with exciting speakers, discussion groups and workshops.
The aim is to jointly develop concrete project ideas for the „city with a heart“ in order to make it even more livable and an international innovation engine!

Germany, the land of poets and thinkers, but where does the Federal Republic stand when it comes to digitisation? If you talk to entrepreneurs or the population, most of them think we are in the back third, but this is far from it! Our infrastructure, start-up landscape and technological developments say something quite different. So how can such a misjudgement occur and why are Germans so critical of the inventions and developments „Made in Germany“?
Internationally there is a word for it, the „German fear“, the fear of the future. This must have an end! It does not only need an innovation culture in the enterprises, but one for the entire country and that begins with each individual. Where digital self-confidence is currently lacking and what we can learn from other countries by understanding our own innovation culture is shown by innovation profiler and future strategist Alexander Pinker in this Brainwash. Where does Germany stand when it comes to digitisation? If you ask entrepreneurs and the population, the estimate is that we are in the lower third of the international rankings. The truth is, however, that we are currently in sixth place among 118 countries. How can such a misjudgement occur and why are Germans so critical of the achievements of the land of poets and thinkers? What is needed is not only an innovation culture in the companies, but one for the entire country.
On 04 July 2019, in a 12-minute journey through the „Pains and Gains“ of Germany’s digital ecosystem at 12min.me in Munich, I showed where there is currently a lack of digital self-understanding and what we can learn from Estonia and Co in our understanding of our own innovation culture.
The textile industry will change fundamentally in the next few years. Innovations will find their way into production processes, but also into products, making them more intelligent, versatile and unique. Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality in particular will play a major role in this.
Under the motto „From tradition to innovation“, the Young Textiles Congress held in St. Gallen, Switzerland, on 27 June 2019, invited visitors to see how the world’s oldest industries can approach innovation. As a future strategist Alexander Pinker showed the participants how AR and VR will change their business and let them try out some current VR headsets directly.
The year 2030. What will our world look like? Has our life been completely digitalized by then, or have we, perhaps even intentionally, retained a touch of analogy? If managers don’t change their way of thinking, they can’t properly perceive and interpret new situations. In addition, both new skills and new tools are needed.
The tools for digital change are manifold. Innovation Profiler and Future Strategist Alexander Pinker took visitors to the conference „Passion of the Profession“ on a journey into tomorrow’s world and gave them insights into what the project manager should look like in 2030, what his qualifications should be and how he can continue to be successful in the project management of the future.
